Wait, was it the handle or the wheel part that actually let go? I had a similar thing happen with mine but it was the little screw that holds the wheel on that just stripped out one day and the whole thing fell apart in the middle of a ceiling job. I went through three different seam rollers in like five years before I found one that actually lasted more than a year. The first one had a plastic handle that cracked right where the metal rod goes in, and the second one the wheel itself started wobbling so bad it left lines in my mud that I had to sand down later. My buddy swears by the all metal ones but they cost like twice as much and I'm always worried they'll just snap differently. Honestly I think it just depends on how rough you are with them and if you remember to clean them out after each job.

Changed my mind about metal handles after mine snapped mid roll, @carr.abby.

Was it the handle that gave out or the roller wheel itself? Mine had a plastic handle that cracked after a ton of drywall jobs, and I'm curious if that's a common weak spot on yours too. I've been looking at metal handle versions online but dont know if theyre worth the extra cash. Did you notice it getting loose or shaky before it finally died on you? Trying to figure out if I should upgrade before my current one bites it.
