The homeowner who insisted his cat would pick the carpet color
Last month I was measuring a living room and dining area in a house outside Boise, about 1,100 square feet total. The guy was in his 60s, real nice, but he kept saying his cat had a strong opinion on flooring. I laughed it off until he brought out this lumpy orange tabby and set it right on the sample board pile. He told me to lay out the four swatches on the floor and wait, because the cat would sit on the one we should install. I figured I'd humor him, so I spread them out and we both watched that cat walk around for maybe two minutes, sniff everything, then flop down on the medium gray berber. He gave me the go-ahead and I ordered it. Best part is I got a text from him yesterday saying the cat still naps on that exact spot every afternoon. Has anyone else run into a client who let a pet make a design call? I'm curious how common that is.

That cat clearly knew what it was doing, and honestly I love that he trusted the little guy.
