The seam roller trick my old boss showed me still works on new carpets
Been laying carpet since the late 90s, started in a shop outside Spokane. Back then we used a 3 inch metal seam roller and a lot of elbow grease, but last week I tried the old method of rolling seams twice with a slight angle change on a stretch-in in a condo. Problem was the new softer backing kept showing the seam line, and I mean it worked way better than any of the fancy tools I've bought since. Any of you guys still rolling seams by hand or is everyone on those power rollers now?

Heard a buddy swear by the same trick, swears it beats any power roller he's used.
