Watching a brand new carpet develop dips has me worried

Honestly, the old rubber underpads never sank like today's foam. Tbh, if you save money there, you'll lose it on repairs.

The topographic map line is spot on. My old apartment carpet had more dips than a roller coaster. You really do pay for cheap pads one way or another.

Yeah, those cheap foam pads are the worst. My living room looked like a topographic map after six months. Finally got fed up and ripped it all out, put in one of those thicker, felt-capped rubber pads. Cost more up front, but that was five years ago and not a single dent. Sometimes you just have to stop throwing money at the problem and actually fix it.

Remember when people said to just buy the cheap pad? The nancy is right, you really do have to fix it right the first time.

Did yours start sinking right after you got it too?
