Why does nobody talk about the trade-off between speed and skill in carpet stretching?

Old-timers say knee kickers build real skill, but power tools get jobs done faster. Which side are y'all on?

lol people really treat this like some deep life philosophy. It's just tools, man. In the end a flat floor is a flat floor.

Right, because the bubble's journey to the center is clearly a metaphor for our own inner peace lmao. It's a tool, not a therapy session. Some people just need to put the level down and touch grass.

But what if the fuss isn't about the floor, but about the person holding the level? Maybe getting that bubble just right gives someone a clean, simple problem to solve in a messy life. It's a small space where things can be perfect, unlike most stuff we deal with. The tool lets them focus completely, shutting out the noise for a minute. So the flat floor is almost beside the point; it's the straight line in their head that matters. That's where the deep talk comes from, not the stick with the bubble.

Oh please, some of these guys act like they're performing brain surgery with a laser level. I saw a fifteen minute video last week about the "spiritual balance" of a bubble vial. It's a stick with a bubble in it! You get it straight, you draw a line. The floor doesn't care about your journey to floor enlightenment.
