Just realized my brother's claim that cartoon characters always land on their feet is plain wrong
He told me 2 months ago to stop nitpicking Tom and Jerry because "toons have built-in landing physics," but I rewatched 15 episodes from the 1949 season and half of them end with a pancake flat gag or a wall dent. So which rule actually applies here, or do animators just pick whatever sells the joke?
