Appreciation post: That Logan Paul apology felt like a business pitch
I watched his whole video from last week. He started with "I messed up" but within 30 seconds he was talking about his podcast growth. The close-up eye contact thing felt so forced. Anyone else notice he used the word "accountability" like 4 times but never actually said what he did?

Yeah the "accountability" word being dropped that many times was a dead giveaway he was working from a script. Reminds me of when my cousin tried to apologize to his wife for forgetting their anniversary and somehow worked his new fishing boat into the conversation within two minutes. Some people just cant help but spin everything back to their own benefit.

Honestly @pat_roberts55 that story about your cousin and the fishing boat hit too close to home. My buddy Mike tried to apologize to his girlfriend for missing her birthday dinner last year and somehow segued into talking about his new tire pressure monitoring system for like ten minutes. You could see her eyes just glaze over while he's going on about PSI levels and how it saved him from a blowout on the highway. Some people just can't let a moment be about someone else, they gotta steer it back to their own world every single time.

It is wild how some people just can't help themselves. My friend Jenna was telling me about her breakup and I had to physically stop myself from talking about my car getting towed until she was done. What worked for me was literally putting my hand over my mouth when I felt the urge to jump in. Took like three hangouts before I could just listen without making it about me. Now I just ask "what happened next?" and it keeps things on track. Still hard sometimes though, ngl.
