Had a chat with my buddy's girlfriend and now I'm side-eyeing every celebrity apology differently

So I was at a cookout last Saturday and my buddy's girlfriend (she's a publicist, which I didn't know) started breaking down why she thinks 80% of those apology videos are fake. She said the key is watching for when they look away from the camera right before they say 'I take full responsibility.' Apparently that's a tell that they're reading a line from their team. I've been going back through old apology videos all week and she's scarily accurate about it. Has anyone else noticed little tells like that in celebrity apologies?

Honestly, that whole bit about looking away before saying "I take full responsibility" is wild. I used to think most of those apologies were genuine, like people just being emotional and messing up. But now I can't unsee it. I went back and watched that Logan Paul apology from a few years ago and sure enough, right before he says it, he glances off to the side. Same with some of those YouTuber apologies where they're clearly reading off a script. Tbh, it kind of ruins it for me now. I feel like I'm watching a bad audition.

Totally agree with you on this and it's something I've been noticing more and more lately too. Once you start looking for those little tells like glancing away or pausing at the wrong spot, you can't stop seeing them in every apology video. Makes you wonder if any of these big apologies are even real anymore or if it's all just damage control.

I get what you guys are saying but I think sometimes we're reading too much into it. People look away when they're nervous or thinking, not just when they're lying. I've been in situations where I had to apologize for something and I probably glanced around a million times because I felt awkward, not because I was faking it. Some of these creators might just be bad at public speaking or crying while they talk, which makes them act weird on camera.
