Is crying in an apology video a real sign or just good acting?

I used to think tears meant they meant it, but after watching that 2022 James Charles apology where he blinked 40 times in 3 minutes, I started questioning everything. Do you weigh the words more or the body language, or is it all just about whether they actually change their behavior after?
