That celebrity apology from last week cost me 3 hours of my life
I watched that whole 8 minute video from the pop star who got caught lip syncing and I was so sure it was genuine. I spent like 2 hours analyzing her eye contact and voice cracks, even rewound it 4 times to check for signs of scripted lines. Then my friend who works in PR told me she literally hired the same crisis team that did the apology for that actor last year. I wasted a whole Sunday afternoon on this when I could have just looked at the production credits. The lighting and camera angles were way too perfect for a spontaneous apology in her living room. Has anyone else fallen for one of these staged apologies only to find out later it was totally fake?

Three years ago I watched a fake influencer try to sell me crypto with a $10,000 RED Komodo just sitting on the shelf behind her. The lighting was so soft you could have landed a plane on it, and @brookeellis nailed that already. But the real giveaway is always the actual hard drives or monitors in the shot, not just the softboxes. If you see a bunch of G-Tech drives or a Flanders Scientific monitor just sitting there, 9 times out of 10 they're trying to look legit.
