That celebrity apology video with the teary-eyed singer I watched last night felt off

I watched this singer's apology video from Tuesday night where she kept touching her nose every 3 seconds. It was about a fight she had with a fan at a Starbucks in Portland. She said 'I take full responsibility' but then spent 4 minutes blaming the fan for triggering her. The crying felt weird too, like she was trying to squeeze out tears but nothing came. Made me think she had a PR person write the whole script. Has anyone else noticed celebrities doing that nose-touching thing when they lie?

Trust me I've watched a lot of these apology videos over the years and the nose touching is actually a common tell when someone is nervous about lying. Look up the "Pinocchio effect" online - it's a real thing where people touch their face when they're not being honest. The best way to tell if it's genuine is to see if they ever actually answer the question about what they did wrong, not just say sorry. I'd say if they spend more time blaming the other person than owning up, then the tears are probably fake.

Oh man, I actually gotta disagree a little here. I watched the same video and she seemed genuinely upset to me, like the crying looked real and she was clearly struggling to get through it.

Yeah "struggling to get through it" that part got me too, that's not something you fake easily.
