The day I caught a celebrity apology that was clearly filmed in a closet

So last Tuesday I'm watching this pop star's apology video for that whole concert mess. And I notice something weird right away. The audio is bouncing off walls like crazy, like they're recording in a tiny room with no carpet. I used to do sound for local bands back in the day and that echo is a dead giveaway. Plus they kept glancing off camera at what looked like a script taped to the wall. The lighting was off too, shadows moving every time they shifted. I've watched maybe fifty of these breakdowns in this community and I'm telling you, this one was filmed in a cramped bathroom or a closet. No effort to even fake a sincere setting. Has anyone else spotted a star who didn't bother with basic production for their big apology?

Funny enough, that closet echo is exactly what my own apology video would sound like if I ever had to make one... probably recorded in my actual closet with a stack of laundry behind me. This star must've thought we wouldn't notice the reverb bouncing off those four walls and that hollow tile floor. At least throw a blanket over your head or something, buddy. My bedroom setup for Zoom calls has better sound treatment than what they rolled out here. Honestly, their closet probably costs more than my whole apartment, so at least they're humble about filming in a cramped space.

Hold on, I gotta correct one thing. That hollow tile floor you mentioned, rich people's closets usually have hardwood or carpet, not tile. Tile would be in the bathroom or kitchen of that mansion. But yeah, the reverb is still a giveaway. It's like they grabbed their phone, walked into the nearest small room with hard surfaces, and hit record without thinking about how it would sound. If they had thrown a blanket over their head like you said, at least we'd be laughing at the visual instead of the echo.
