Walked into a Whole Foods and saw a Kardashian apology video playing on loop near the checkout

I stood there for a good 3 minutes watching her cry about some tea company drama, and the whole time I was thinking about how one of my dog clients shakes after a bath - you can always tell when a reaction is rehearsed or real, and hers had all the signs of a dog who knows the treat's coming but has to sit first.

Nailed it with that dog analogy, spot on.

Used to roll my eyes at that kind of comparison between people and pets, but now I get it. That dog analogy actually flipped a switch for me too, made a lot of my own stubborn reactions make way more sense.

Caught that too and thought the same thing. It's just like when my buddy's dog gets scared of the vacuum cleaner and hides behind the couch even though the vacuum isn't even on anymore. We had a beagle growing up who would start shaking if someone just pulled out the dusting cloth because he knew what came next. The way people carry over old fears into totally new situations is exactly the same way. Made me rethink a couple arguments I've had recently where I was probably reacting to something that wasn't even there anymore. Did that analogy hit home for you the same way?
