Was Jax's apology in that 2022 Miami interview actually sincere or just optics?

I still think about that 10-minute sit-down Jax gave on that local Miami show after the whole club fight thing. He said all the right words, even got a little choked up, but then he dodged every follow-up about the actual incident and name-dropped his new restaurant twice. Is a tear and a 'I'm working on myself' enough when you refuse to answer one specific question about what you did? I'm leaning toward scripted damage control, but I've seen people flip on this, so what's your tell for a fake versus real apology?
