Watching a certain actor's apology from a hotel room in Boise made me spot a new tell
I was stuck in a Hampton Inn last month and caught that apology video from the actor who had the restaurant blow-up. Seeing it on that small, cheap TV screen, I noticed his eyes kept flicking to something just off-camera every time he said 'deeply sorry'. It wasn't in the articles I read later. Has anyone else found that watching these on a different setup changes what you catch?

That bit about the cheap hotel TV made me remember watching a game show in a motel once. The colors were so washed out I couldn't even see the contestant's red shirt, it just looked pink. You really do see a different show on those old sets.

Honestly I kind of miss those old TVs sometimes. The weird colors gave everything a soft, dreamy look that was actually pretty nice. It wasn't about seeing the show perfectly, it was about the vibe of being in some random motel room. That washed out picture felt like part of the whole travel experience. A super sharp modern screen would just ruin that memory for me.

I always thought those old motel TVs were just broken until I read what you said, amy_coleman. You're right, the vibe was the whole point. I stayed at a place off I-95 once where the news anchor looked permanently sunburned from the pink tint. It made the whole night feel separate from real life, like a weird little time capsule. A perfect screen would have just been another boring hotel room.
