I used to think the Taylor Swift breakup songs were exaggerated until I actually listened to the full Evermore album
For months I rolled my eyes at people diving into every lyric for clues about her love life, but then I sat down with a friend in Nashville who plays guitar and she walked me through track 4, 'Tolerate It', pointing out the specific parallels to a classic novel. That plus the concrete references to New York and London in songs that line up with her movements in 2020 made me realize there's more substance there than just fan fiction. Anyone else have a moment where a celebrity's work actually proved the gossip right?

Nah. People read way too much into pop songs these days.

Honestly, isn't it possible to just enjoy a song without dissecting every line?

Reminds me of the time I spent a whole road trip with my buddy arguing if that one country song was about a truck or a girl. We pulled over at a diner, asked the waitress, and she just shrugged and said "it's both, hon." Sometimes a song is just a song and you're overthinking it while driving 70 miles an hour.
