My sister-in-law pointed out a pattern in those 'leaked' photos
We were looking at those pics of that actress supposedly on a beach vacation, and she said, 'Look at the shadows, they're all wrong for that time of day in Greece.' She's a photographer. It made me see how often the 'proof' in a gossip story is just bad photoshop, meant to make the story feel real. Now I check the light in every 'candid' shot. Does anyone else have a trick for spotting fake leaks?

The metadata on that leaked document last month showed it was created in Photoshop two days after the date stamped on it. The file info is always the first thing I check now.

Check the file creation date on any original or raw files too, not just the final jpg. I've caught people editing metadata on purpose to match a narrative, but they forget to scrub the raw exports. Always cross reference with the original camera file if you can get your hands on it.

Yeah, the shadows are a dead giveaway. I always look for weird pixel stuff around the edges too. Good point about the metadata, @emmaking, I should start checking that more often.
