Picked the side of the messy celeb breakup on Twitter last night and immediately regretted it

I chose to defend the guy everyone was calling the villain because I thought the screenshots looked fake. Turns out they were real and now I have 200 replies calling me out. Has anyone else jumped into a gossip war and gotten burned like this?

Oh man, do I ever know this feeling. I jumped into defending this one influencer during a whole drama about who copied whose makeup line, and I was so sure I had receipts. Turned out I misread the date stamps on everything and I looked like a total clown in the replies. Worst part is I had already liked and commented on like five posts defending her before I realized my mistake. The notifications just kept coming for hours. It really stings when you think you're doing the right thing and it backfires that hard.

Wait, you mixed up the dates on those and didn't double check? I honestly feel sick just reading that, @baker.christopher that is brutal. The way you had to sit there watching the replies pile up knowing you were wrong the whole time sounds like a nightmare I try to avoid at all costs.
