Saw a clip of a celeb crying at a red carpet event and my first thought was 'this is a PR move'
It was that actress from the sci-fi series at the Berlin premiere last week, and her team had already posted the crying photo on Instagram before the event ended. When did we all stop believing tears are just tears?

Whoa hold up, I mean is it really that bad though? Like yeah some people definitely stage stuff for clout but I feel like we've swung too far the other way now. That actress at Berlin could have just been having a genuinely rough night after a long press tour, you know? I've had days where I'm just exhausted and one little thing sets me off, and if a camera happened to catch me I'd hate for everyone to assume I'm faking it. Plus that napkin story your buddy told could actually be real - maybe the girl was legit crying and just happened to post about it later, doesn't mean she planned the whole thing out from the start. Not saying we should be naive, just that assuming everything is fake feels kind of sad too.

The Berlin premiere clip had 500k views before it was even over. I mean, I get why people are skeptical now. At the grocery store last week I saw a mom stage this whole crying moment with her kid for a TikTok, then fix her hair and smile right after. Feels like every emotion has to be captured and posted these days, so we all just assume it's fake until proven real. Idk, maybe it's just me being cynical.

Man, that grocery store thing really gets me. I had a buddy who saw a girl in a coffee shop crying into her phone, and he felt bad so he gave her a napkin. She didn't even look up just kept typing. Later he saw the same girl on his feed with a caption about how a stranger restored her faith in humanity and it had thousands of likes. He was the stranger and he didn't do a thing he just handed her a napkin. It messes with your head because now you can't even tell the difference between something real and something that's just made for the algorithm. I guess we're all just stuck waiting for proof now.
