Showerthought: that week of Taylor Swift rumors about the secret album was actually right

I remember last October when everyone was saying Taylor was dropping a surprise album before the tour. I rolled my eyes so hard because the source was some random TikTok with 200 likes. But then three days later she actually announced it, and I felt like a fool. Has anyone else had a gossip prediction that seemed too wild but turned out true?

Oh I'm the queen of believing wild rumors, my Spotify wrapped is just a list of lies.

My buddy Jake once spent a whole year convinced that the band OK Go had secretly been replaced by lookalikes after their first album because he read it on a LiveJournal post. He even made this whole conspiracy board in his room with string and photos trying to prove that the lead singer's mole moved to the other side of his face. When I finally showed him a video of them playing live from three different years he just sat there quiet for like five minutes and then said "well maybe the clones got better.

I mean, oh that's nothing, I had a coworker once who told me she heard that the singer from some band she liked died in a tragic llama accident and she legit believed it for like 3 years. She even went to a tribute party and everything, candles and sad playlists and the whole deal. Then she saw them live at a festival and realized her friend's older brother had just made up the whole thing as a joke in high school. She still gets all embarrassed if anyone brings up llamas to this day, idk maybe it's just me but I find that kind of dedication to a rumor almost impressive.
