Bought a $30 fish spatula from a garage sale, best kitchen tool I ever got
I mean, I was skeptical since it was floppy and rusty, but after a good scrub it flips delicate salmon like nothing else. Anyone else find random gear that beats your expensive stuff?

Two things though. A fish spatula is supposed to be thin and flexible, floppy is kinda the point, and the rust likely just came off that old carbon steel blade, so that's actually a good sign. But $30 for a garage sale find is steep unless it's a really old Wusthof or something, those can go for way more. My own best score was a $2 offset spatula at a flea market, beat my $25 one by a mile for spreading batter.
