Broke my wrist, then finally learned to hold a knife right
After 9 years on the line I got a hairline fracture from a slip on a wet floor. While I was out for 6 weeks, the sous had me doing prep with my non dominant hand. Turns out I was death gripping the handle and extending my index finger along the spine like everyone tells you not to. Watching myself in the mirror with the good hand made it obvious, my knuckles weren't even aligned with the blade. Now my cuts are way more consistent and my hand doesn't cramp after a 200 pound onion prep. Any other cooks have a forced break that accidentally fixed a bad habit?
