Sat in a Chicago courtroom for weeks before I figured out I was mailing the wrong papers to the clerk
Six weeks into my small claims case at the Daley Center I watched a guy in line hand the clerk two copies instead of one and it hit me that I'd been sending the wrong form the whole time, so has anyone else learned a filing rule the hard way?

Wrong form the whole time? Sounds more like the clerk just wasn't doing their job.
