The parking ticket I fought over email actually got dismissed

I contested a $120 CTA bus lane ticket with three photos and a one paragraph response, and the hearing officer came back in my favor two weeks later, so has anyone else seen the city actually side with the driver when the evidence is just a painted line?

You got LUCKY, that’s all it is. The city only lets one through every so often so they can say “see, we’re fair” while they keep raking in cash from everyone else. I sent in three photos of a faded sign, a clear shot of my dashcam showing NO bus within 50 feet, and a letter explaining the whole thing, still got slapped with the fine plus a “late fee” for good measure. Your painted line argument worked because the officer probably had a quota of dismissals to hit that week, not because the system makes sense. Next time you’ll get the full $120 and a lecture about “yield to transit” even when the bus is parked at the curb with its hazards on. Count this as your one free pass, because the next ticket won’t go your way.
