Finally saw the light on rotary brush cleaning kits
I used to think those $40 rotary brush kits were a gimmick. Always stuck with my hand brushes and rods like the old timers taught me. Then I took on a job in Mobile where the creosote was packed in like concrete, 3/8 inch thick. Borrowed a buddy's rotary kit for one flue and it cut my cleaning time from 45 minutes down to 15. Now I'm thinking about eating the cost for my own setup. Anyone else make the switch and regret not doing it sooner?

Wait, you really see it that way? No kidding, I used to be right there with you, but I had to eat my words after my first real deep clean. Hand brushes are great for maintenance, but when you're facing down a solid crust of creosote, a rotary kit is a total game changer. It's not about being lazy, it's about working smarter. I spent years fighting with rods and wire brushes, getting worn out and still leaving a mess. Now I get the job done faster and cleaner, with way less frustration. I'm never going back.

Did your rotary kit have a hard time getting into those tight corners near the flue, or does it manage those spots pretty well too?

Right? Next thing you know they'll invent a robot that folds my dirty laundry and I'll be like "naaaah, my elbow grease is fine" while my piles keep growing...
