Heard a young sweep in Cleveland say he's never used a wire brush on a flue, and it made me think about how we all learned | Chimney Sweeps - Vivisector
Wire brushes are for creosote that's baked on hard, not for a flue you clean twice a year. A lot of guys skip it because poly brushes do most of the work and they never see the payoff. But when you hit a nasty glaze layer and that wire finally bites in, you get it. Nobody teaches you that, you just pick it up from whoever let you ride along.
