I blew $340 on a rotary chimney brush setup and my wrist still hates me

Every guy on the forums swears by rotary for clay flues but after 6 jobs in Omaha my wrist was shot and the rods kept grabbing at the seams, so I'm going back to my old $60 poly brush and rods, has anyone actually had rotary save them time on real dirty jobs or did I just buy a $340 wrist workout?
