I finally cleared a chimney in an old farmhouse near Salem and found something wild
Last Tuesday, I was working on a stone chimney from the 1700s. When I got my camera up there, I saw a huge bird's nest completely blocking the flue. It took me over three hours to carefully remove it all by hand because the homeowner wanted to save the eggs. My back was sore for two days after that crouching in the fireplace. Has anyone else had a job where wildlife caused a bigger problem than the soot?

Ever check for mites after a nest removal like @zara_sanchez mentioned? They can leave a real mess behind the main cleanup.

Did you hear about the raccoon family that clogged a whole apartment building's vent system last year?

Oh man, that totally happened at my cousin's place too. A whole nest of them in the attic vents. The noise was wild, like constant scratching and thumping. Took pest control two days to get them all out.
