I'm totally lost on this drone inspection trend

Last month, I watched a video where a sweep used a drone to check a chimney. It looked cool, but I don't get why we need it. My trusty mirror and flashlight have never failed me. Drones cost a lot and can break easily. Plus, what if it crashes into the flue? I think it's just a flashy way to charge more money. Am I the only one who feels this way?

They can spot issues mirrors might miss.

Ever think drones might actually save you from costly repairs later? @brooke_taylor nailed it, mirrors can't see every hidden flaw. It's not just a gimmick if it stops a small crack from becoming a huge mess.

Actually, drones aren't just for spotting cracks early. They can keep a full record of how your place looks over time. Tbh, that proof is huge if you ever argue with insurance or a contractor. It stops them from saying the damage was already there. Regular flyovers can also show where things wear out fastest, so you fix stuff before it breaks. Basically, it's peace of mind without the extra cost.
