Old brush heads from the 80s are way better than what I use now

Was cleaning out my dad's garage last week and found his old chimney brush from back when he ran his own sweep business in the 80s. I compared it to my current one and the wire bristles are way stiffer, hold their shape better, everything. Did some digging online and found out older brushes used a thicker gauge wire that just isn't made anymore. My dad said his brush lasted 12 years before he retired it. I've been through 3 in the last 4 years. Anyone else notice newer gear just doesn't hold up the same? What old tools are you still using?

Newer stuff is cheaper made, but your dad kept that brush for 12 years, most people just replace things faster now.

Tbh my grandfather's old toolset from the 70s still works better than anything I've bought in the last decade, especially his ratchets and sockets. Nothing strips, everything clicks tight, and I've had to replace three modern sets already while his stuff just keeps going.
