Rotary brush systems felt like overkill until I did a 300-foot clay flue last Tuesday
I always thought those motorized heads were just for guys who couldn't run a standard rod, but that clay liner had so much soot glaze it was like scraping concrete, the rotary chewed through it in 40 minutes where I'd have burned 3 hours and probably cracked the tile, so has anyone else switched after one brutal job like that?

Sounds like you just needed a stiffer rod, not a motor.
