Used to wire brush the whole flue by hand, now I only hit the trouble spots first

For my first couple seasons I ran the wire brush down every inch of every flue, top to bottom, no matter what the inside looked like. Last month I started doing a quick look with the camera first, and on a house in Dayton I found only the top 6 feet had real glazing while the rest was just light dust. On that job I saved maybe 40 minutes and the homeowner paid the same flat rate. I get why some guys say the camera makes you lazy, but I think skipping it just wastes your arms. Anyone else switch to checking before scrubbing, or do you still run the full brush every time?
