Dropped $70 on a '5 minute' clay face mask that the thumbnail swore wouldn't burn, and my face was red for 3 hours
The ad had a little timer animation and everything, so I figured it was honest, but 90 seconds in it felt like hot sauce. Was that whole countdown just to make me feel like it was fast, or am I supposed to leave it on till it cracks?

So what happened when you hit the crack stage? Did it get worse or was the burn kind of front loaded in those first 90 seconds? Because if the pain peaked early and then chilled out, maybe the timer is just counting down the "bad part" and they want you to ride it out longer. But if it kept burning the whole time, then that countdown had nothing to do with your skin and everything to do with making you think it works fast. Did the redness come with any peeling or bumps after, or was it just hot and pink for a few hours?
