I clicked a thumbnail of a giant ball of yarn that said "YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT'S INSIDE" and it was just a smaller ball of yarn
I showed it to my buddy Dave while we were eating lunch at the diner on 5th, and he laughed so hard he almost choked on a fry. The video was 11 minutes long and the big reveal happened at 10:45, so I sat through 10 minutes of some guy unrolling yarn for nothing. Is there a name for this kind of bait where the payoff is just the title again but smaller?

The worst part is that the title was still technically true. You didn't believe what was inside, because who would guess "a tinier version of the exact same thing"? That's barely even a trick, it's more like a magic act where the magician just shows you his other hand. There's probably a whole science to how long they can stretch it out, like they know the sweet spot is right before you close the tab. Dave almost dying on a fry is honestly the best thing that came out of those 11 minutes.
