Just realized the 'I quit my job' vlog I defended last winter was filmed in a rented office
I got into it with my brother over a video last December where this guy claims he walked out of a $180k job with no plan and no savings. I argued the whole thing was real because he showed his badge and an empty desk. Then last week someone in the replies posted a photo of the same office, and it turns out you can rent that exact room in a shared workspace in Columbus for $29 an hour. Same whiteboard, same window, same sad plant. I felt like a total idiot for going to bat for it. Now I scrub for the little stuff: exit timestamps, hotel key cards, whether the parking lot matches the city he says he lives in. So how do you all decide which ones are worth the deep dive? I want a better method than just getting mad in the comments.
My version of a deep dive is watching the first 30 seconds and then getting distracted by my own fridge. The rented office thing got me too though, that sad plant is doing more acting than the guy. Now I just assume half these clips are filmed in the same coworking spot until proven otherwise.
