That "landlord special" video made me tear out my own kitchen faucet, and I'm out $60
Honestly, I got suckered by a 45 second video titled "Renters do this, owners do that" and it made the fix look like a 10 minute job. That was last Tuesday, and by Wednesday night I had a crescent wrench, a flashlight in my teeth, and water spraying the cabinet doors. The clip skipped the part where the shutoff valve under my sink had been frozen shut since 2016, so I had to call a plumber out to my place near Dayton at 9pm for $140 just to stop the leak. Now I've watched the same channel's other videos and half of them are just trim pieces glued over damage with no warning label. Is it just me, or does every "you've been doing this wrong" headline leave out the 3 steps that actually ruin your day?
