Heat pump vs. gas furnace in Denver, my 14 month utility bills settled it
Everyone in this sub pushes heat pumps like they're magic, but my 2023 install in Denver showed a different story. Running the gas furnace last January cost me $89, but the heat pump in January 2024 was $142 with the same thermostat settings. I switched back to gas after that and my spring bills dropped back under $100. Has anyone else run a full winter comparison in a cold climate, or am I the only one who saw the electric rates climb faster than predicted?
