Hit my first 200 pound weight loss milestone and realized how much plastic I stopped using
I finally hit 200 pounds down and when I added up all the takeout containers and junk food packaging I'm no longer buying, it came out to like 400 less plastic items a month, and that actually hit me harder than the number on the scale. Has anyone else here tracked how their personal changes line up with cutting waste?

I mean, congrats on the weight loss for sure, that's a lot of work. But I gotta say, counting the plastic from takeout containers feels a little over the top. Like, you lost 200 pounds, that's the big thing, not some random wrappers you would've thrown out anyway. I dunno, it just seems like a weird flex to turn a health victory into an eco thing when most of the plastic in the world comes from factories and corporations, not someone's leftover Chinese food cartons.

Is counting the plastic gonna make the takeout taste any better?

Respectfully, I see it differently. Counting the plastic is about being mindful of your footprint, not just bragging about weight loss-it shows you care about the whole picture of your habits. Turning a personal milestone into a reminder of waste doesn't lessen the achievement, it just adds another layer of thoughtfulness to it.
