I finally got my city to plant a native tree in my yard and it's struggling
I pushed for a bur oak instead of a Norway maple, thinking it would need less water and help local bugs. But after a dry month in Springfield, the leaves are turning brown way too early. I learned even native plants need extra help when they're young and the weather is weird. What's the best way to give a new tree a good start without wasting a ton of water?

Even natives need a little helicopter parenting.
