Last week's heatwave finally made me believe in climate action

I used to think climate change was something future generations would deal with. Then last Tuesday hit 107 degrees here in Phoenix and the mail truck's AC died by 10 AM. I had 83 stops left and my water bottle was empty by noon. My feet were blistered from the pavement heat and three dogs got loose because their owners left doors cracked for air. That night I went online and signed up for a local solar co-op. Has anyone else had a single weather event change their mind about this stuff?

Hang on, quick clarification on the solar co-op thing. Most of those programs actually take a few months to get panels installed after you sign up, so your mail truck's AC issues won't get fixed by next summer through that alone. Still a good move though. The co-op I joined last year took about 4 months from sign-up to installation day, but the group buying discount was worth the wait. Just make sure you're prepared for the timeline so you don't get frustrated when the panels aren't up by August.
