My neighbor told me to stop using my leaf blower and just rake
Honestly, I thought he was just being a pain about the noise. This was last fall in Denver. He said my gas blower was putting out more pollution than my old truck for a whole hour of work. I looked it up and he was right, it's like a crazy amount. So I tried using a rake for a week. Tbh, it took longer and my back hurt. But then I got one of those electric battery ones. It's way quieter, does the job fine, and I don't smell like exhaust. Now I'm stuck thinking, is the small hassle worth it for the bigger picture? Should towns ban gas yard tools, or is that going too far for most people?

That Denver study got some wild numbers, but my gas mower is like 15 years old and still runs fine. Feels like a waste to junk it over some leaves.

My neighbor's old mower finally died last fall. He tried to fix it for weeks before giving up and buying electric.

Yeah, that's the thing with old gear... sometimes you just hit a point where the parts cost more than a new mower. My uncle had a similar battle with his old two-stroke trimmer.
