Neighbor's rain barrel setup made me rethink mine after a July dry spell
Last summer in Tucson, she showed me her 50-gallon barrel with a simple diverter off the downspout, and I realized my fancy pump system wasted more water than it saved, so has anyone else simplified their setup and seen better results?

Man, same thing happened to me... I had this whole setup with timers and filters and it just drained everything. Swapped it for a basic gravity-fed barrel and somehow my garden did way better through the dry months.
