Pro tip: switched from paper towels to cloth rags in my kitchen

Used to go through a roll of paper towels every two days, tossing them in the trash like it was nothing. Then I saw how much waste I was creating and bought a pack of 20 cotton bar towels for $15 six months back. Anyone else make this switch and actually stick with it?

40 bar towels have been in my kitchen drawer for two years now. They go straight into a laundry basket under the sink after one use, and I wash them on hot every weekend. It cuts down on waste and saves me buying paper towels every damn week.

My mom kept hers in a bread box for years before she switched to flour sack towels.

Mine sit in a plastic bin under the sink until I remember they exist, usually after finding a moldy one three months later. @morganmartinez has got the right system going, I should probably learn from it instead of just buying new ones every time I run out. Maybe I'll try the hot wash routine, but no promises I'll keep up with it past week one.
