Switched from cranking the AC all summer to just using ceiling fans and opening windows at night.

After my July electric bill hit $280 two years ago I started letting the house cool down naturally after sunset and now I only run the AC during the hottest part of the day, has anyone else noticed a big drop in their power usage doing this?

Wait, you're saying you actually sleep BETTER with the windows open?

You must be one of those people who likes sleeping in a stuffy box with the air conditioner running like a jet engine all night, right? @torres.blair here is living in the year 2025 with the windows open and the fresh air, which apparently is too advanced for some of us. Next you'll tell me you prefer the sound of a humming refrigerator over crickets and a gentle breeze blowing through the place. My electric bill thanks me every month and my sinuses don't feel like they've been through a desert by morning.

Oh man that's exactly what I started doing after my electric bill hit $320 one summer! I run the AC just enough in the afternoon to keep the place from turning into an oven then crack the windows wide open once it cools off outside at night. My power bill dropped by like a third the next month and honestly I sleep way better with the fresh air moving through.
