DAE think hitting 10,000 parts on one insert is either a badge of honor or a sign you're running too slow?
Hit 10,247 parts on a single CNMG insert last Thursday in Toledo before it finally chipped, and now half the shop says I'm a hero for saving tooling costs while the other half says I'm babying the feeds and leaving money on the table, so which one is it?
Reminds me of a guy I worked with who bragged about how long his inserts lasted. Turned out he was running everything so slow the parts cost more in machine time than the inserts ever saved. There's a balance somewhere but nobody agrees where it's at.
