My old lead hand told me to stop touching the offset key after the first part, and it finally clicked on a run of 400 bushings
He said 'trust the setup, not your gut' back in 2019 at the shop on Grand Ave, and I still hear it when my hand drifts toward the dial. Any of you catch yourselves over-tweaking a machine that was already cutting good?

Man, "trust the setup, not your gut" is exactly what I needed to hear years ago. I used to be that guy who had to fiddle with every dial on the first few parts, swore I was "dialing it in," but really I was just scared to let it run. Took me way too long to admit my gut was the problem, not the machine.
