Rant: Hand sanding corners when a radius end mill would save 20 minutes per part
I keep seeing guys at the shop I sub for grinding down inside corners with sandpaper on a stick, claiming it's faster than writing a radius into the program. Meanwhile I run the same job with a 3/8 end mill and walk away while it finishes. Am I missing something or is that just stubborn pride in doing it the hard way?

@willowr96 asking the real questions lmao. Deburr guy's billable hours are definitely crying into his coffee while you're off sipping yours. But seriously, hand sanding a corner for 20 minutes a pop is like using a rock to hammer a nail when you own a nail gun. I'd bet their "faster" trick adds up to a whole lotta wasted time by the end of the week.

Had a buddy who got burned on this exact thing a few years back. He's a small shop owner, not a big operation like some of these guys. He told his deburr guy to just "clean up those edges fast" and the guy spent 45 minutes on one damn part with a file. His billable hours were insane. So yeah @willowr96, it really matters how they charge. My buddy learned that the hard way, now he gives super specific time limits for stuff like that.
