Saw something wild at the Detroit auto show last weekend

I was checking out the new electric truck frames and noticed the weld beads looked way too perfect. Got up close and saw they were all done by 6-axis robots, not a human in sight. The guy running the booth said they program them with offline CAM software before the metal even gets to the floor. Makes me wonder if we're all gonna be just robot babysitters in a few years. Anyone else's shop moving toward full automation like that?

Ha, my job's already just pressing the big green "go" button.

But someone's got to know when to press it. That's the real skill, @fiona_carr26. It's not boring if you're the one responsible for the outcome.

Sounds like a fun job (but maybe a little boring).
