Thought chip trays were a gimmick until a guy at the Dayton shop showed me his scrap bin
I always tossed chips back in the pan and let the conveyor sort it out, but he walked me through his setup where every tool has its own labeled tray and his tool changes got 40 percent faster. He said mixing aluminum and steel chips cost him a $600 load at the scrap yard once. Anyone else splitting chips by material or am I late to this?
