Update: watched a guy crash a 40 year old Bridgeport at the shop in Dayton, now I can't decide if I'm overthinking my setup
Back in March I watched a guy at a shop in Dayton lose a part and wreck a 40 year old Bridgeport because he skipped indicating the vise, and since then I spend an extra 20 minutes on every setup even on dead simple jobs. Half the guys there called him lazy and half said the setup was rushed because the boss pushes cycle time, so I still don't know which one it really was. Do you eat the extra setup time every job or only when the part is worth it?
